there are some spoilers in here for the movie, so for the ones that dont want to see i wouldnt click. :)
rest here @ my livejournal
That timeworn teenage vampire wooing ritual of taking your girl climbing high into the pine forests of the Pacific Northwest looks a lot simpler on screen in "Twilight" than it was in real life. To support actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (and their stunt doubles) as they stood on a branch at the top of a particularly high pine in Oregon's Silver Falls State Park, the visual effects team, led by Richard Kidd, had to install a support rig up about 100 feet and spanning three pine trees. "It was four really large pipes that created the structure like a box and they snapped together like Lego pieces," he said. The rig not only steadied the tree that high up but also housed the winches and pulleys used to get the actors and stunt people into the trees. Additionally, the camera had to be installed on its own series of cables and winches high in the trees, where it was controlled remotely. But once they got their shot, Kidd's team's work wasn't finished. It had to go back and digitally remove the rig, the cables and even the harnesses strapped under the actor's clothes, which required weeks of digital tweaking. The results speak for themselves.
Rating: PG for now

Enjoy, review, and happy Thanksgiving!
For this 5-day Thanksgiving holiday, it looks like Twilight and female tweens and teens will go together like turkey and pumpkin pie. It's too soon to call the weekend movie-wise based just on Wednesday's grosses. But the expected frontrunner, New Line/Warner Bros' sour Four Christmases, came in only No. 2 with $6.1M from 3,310 theaters behind $8M from 3,419 venues for Summit Entertainment's no-sex, no-violence, no-stars vampire romance that should spend another weekend in No. 1. "All those kids out of school Friday helped Twilight. Four Christmases did not have that much family interest," one studio exec told me when first numbers came in from the North American box office. MovieTickets.com saw it coming and told me that low-cost blockbuster Twilight had sold more tickets on its site than Bolt, Quantum of Solace, Australia, and Milk combined early in the week.
So proud. Let's keep it going.
2008: ROBERT PATTINSON - Twilight
Runner-up: ROBERT DOWNEY JR. - Iron Man
After a tumultuous decade, Robert Downey Jr. found a role that truly suited him (literally), and he gained a new legion of fans as billionaire superhero Tony Stark. Yet no one inspired as much screaming, fainting, and generally pandemonium as Robert Pattinson as the pale and prepossessing vampire Edward Cullen.
So not bad considering he's also Rolling Stone's Hottest Actor of 2008.
Piano Found in the Woods
On Saturday while wandering the trails of Bell's Neck wood a woman came upon a piano sitting in the woods as if waiting to be played. The spinet style piano from Baldwin was not some old instrument in disrepair but an near perfect condition complete with its bench. Harwich, Massachusetts police are at a loss as to how the piano ended up in the woods or to whom it belongs. The instrument is now awaiting its owner at the Harwich Police garage.
While there are no explanations as to what the piano is doing in the woods, there is no shortage of speculations as for the reason including a "Twilight" fan who may have found symmetry in the names of lead character Bella and the name of the woods Bell's Neck. The two lead characters in the movie play a piano found in an abandoned house in the woods. A piano is not a light instrument, it takes a number of people and careful handling to move the instrument. Placing the piano in the woods took great care and planning to accomplish.
So my Mom's fiance was telling me this story last night and I totally thought he was messing with me b/c he doesn't get the whole 'Twilight'-phenomenon and has so chosen to tease me relentlessly about my obsession...but, it really did happen. This is kind of...eerie. LOL! But I couldn't help posting it.

LOS ANGELES, California—This is the hot young actor that girls are screaming their tonsils out for?
Some reporters couldn’t reconcile Robert Pattinson who looked like he just got out of bed, his hair a thick mess, with the buzz—screaming hysteria, to be more specific—proclaiming him as Hollywood’s new “It Guy.” But when we first interviewed him on the set of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in the UK several years ago, we knew it was only a matter of time before Robert graduated from small roles like Cedric Diggory to a star-launching gig like “Twilight.” Tall, blessed with patrician good looks, Robert stood out among the “Harry Potter” cast.
Kristen Stewart offered the most astute observation about her “Twilight” co-star: “Rob is very organic. He’s in the moment and he lets it happen which is brave ... He’s a courageous actor.”
As predicted, “Twilight,” where Robert and Kristen play Edward and Bella, respectively in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s hit novel of the same name, topped the box-office last weekend. The movie about a high school girl who falls in love with a vampire grossed over $70 million.
Below are excerpts of our separate interviews with Robert and Kristen.

I just have to say that I love this song, so much. I think this is actually my favourite song from the movie and it was placed so well. I couldn't have chosen a better place in the movie to have it.
Comments welcome :)

Rob Pattinson's hair!!!
I mean, duh. The Twilight hunk has captured the hearts of 14-year-old girls around the world... and the writers here at X17 are, uh, no exception. We wish Rob the best of luck with his career and hope that his wonderfully wind-proof hair never overshadows his acting ability!
Not that he really needs to be talented - we're happy just looking at his long locks!
See, even Rob is obsessed with his hair! Love that sexy smile.
