rob water for elephants lean on elbow

I got a response from Molly Erman of Vanity Fair!

Hey everyone! So I know we've all overloaded the emails to get some stills released and it worked! [YAY!] I had personally written Vanity Fair a few days ago, and told them how I appreciated them putting the cast on a much more "mature" magazine, considering I'm 23 years old and a fan, that it was nice to have some fan items that I could relate to as well. I asked them about their plans to release outtakes, and this is the response I got.

Midnight Sun playlist

So, my friend made a chapter by chapter playlist for New Moon, and I got inspired. I've seen a lot of these soundtracks/fanmixes for the books floating around but I had an idea to make things a little more challenging on myself. After weeks of working, I finally finished tonight.

I made a playlist for Midnight Sun (what's finished of it anyway) completely out of piano pieces, since it is from Edward's POV after all. Some famous, some not so famous. There's one song that doesn't even have a title or an artist because I found it on youtube and converted it to an MP3 file.

I started off doing it chapter by chapter but found that doing it by moods/events was easier. I included a word document in the zip file that gives the order the tracks should go in, as well as explanations of what moods/events the the pieces are representing.

It was seriously hard trying to do this using only classical music and nothing with lyrics. I hope you guys like it.

LA Times Countdown: Nov. 11

Today's LA Times Countdown features our one and only Dr. McSparkly....

9 more days...

I sat down with Peter Facinelli at the tail end of Saturday's "Twilight" smorgasbord. Needless to say, he was a lot more relaxed than his co-stars, who were being hounded from all sides.

The actor, who plays the magnanimous Dr. Carlisle, revealed why "New Moon" bothered him, why it's important for him to interact with "Twilight" fans, and, yes, what he thinks of the new "90210," starring his wife, Jennie Garth.

It's a long interview so enjoy!
And do we really have 9 days left?

Awk Kiss

Twilight in Hero Complex

I found this on the LA Times website:

Twilight, Twi-bright, first vamp I see tonight: I'm not sure the world is prepared for how huge "Twilight" is going to be, at least if Internet activity is any sort of predictor of movie box-office grosses. Today's "Twilight" update: Rotten Tomatoes now has a massive 93-image photo gallery from the movie (um, isn't that pretty much the whole movie?) while Gina McIntyre has an interview with Robert Pattinson on the fang-mania. "'It’s happened since the day it got said that I was playing the part,' Pattinson said, running his hands through his hair. 'It was like a day when it changed. [People went from saying] ‘Are you the guy from ‘Harry Potter’? to ‘It’s Edward!’ It’s really, really strange.' When asked if he thinks he’ll ever become accustomed to that aspect of his newfound celebrity, he simply replied, 'No. It’s just a certain amount of acceptance, I guess. The only kind of strange thing is when you get photographed...I don’t think you’d ever get used to that. You can’t really live normally when that’s happening.' " [Entertainment News and Buzz, Los Angeles Times]

The pictures on Rotten Tomatoes are pretty big.  A lot we've seen but they are all on one convenient slideshow.
*Actually, there are quite a few pictures that I haven't seen before!*

MSN Twilight Articles

MSN has two articles up about Twilight.

"My mom sends me a picture and I'm like, 'Don't send it to me.' They send it every single time," Pattinson admits. "My mom and dad, any press I get, they always look at everything. I find it so bizarre. They are like, 'We're so proud of you.' And I'm like, 'Don't be proud of me. It's all luck.'"

"I just didn't pay attention," Stewart recalls. "I was like, 'You guys are celebrating something that has not come true yet. So, you are really retarded and have nothing to do with this creative process and I really don't want to hear you celebrate in front of me. Get out of here! It's my responsibility!'"

Catherine reveals that a 'Midnight Sun' scene will be on the 'Twilight' DVD.

MTV: While you were filming, the whole "Midnight Sun" thing occurred that caused [author] Stephenie [Meyer] to stop writing it. Assuming she ever does finish the book, would you want to reshoot "Twilight" from Edward's perspective?

Hardwicke: Oh, yeah. Robert [Pattinson] and I got to read that. Back in the early days, when we were trying to figure out his character; Stephenie gave us those chapters. It's very fascinating. I mean, you've probably read it on the Internet, but it's pretty intense from Edward's point of view. I'd love to do that too.

MTV: It's hard to think of a film where a director basically reshot the same movie but from a different actor's perspective.

Hardwicke: I think that's fascinating, though. Yeah, I think that would be awesome. Actually, I have to say one thing: On the DVD, I shot one little tiny scene that is from "Midnight Sun," and you're gonna see it on the deleted scenes. Nobody knows that yet.

MTV: Wow! Can you give us a little clue about what the scene is?

Hardwicke: [Laughs.] No, I can't.

Seriously I love this Woman!!

'Twilight' Bumps AC/DC From Atop Billboard 200

The soundtrack to "Twilight" starts atop The Billboard 200 this week, becoming the third soundtrack No. 1 soundtrack this year after "Juno" and "Mamma Mia!"

The Chop Shop/Atlantic set moved 165,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, 29% of which (48,000) were digital downloads, the second biggest digital week for a soundtrack since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking album download sales in 2004. "High School Musical 2 bowed with 62,000 downloads in August 2007.

"Twilight," released in advance of the movie's U.S. theatrical premiere on Nov. 21, boasts tracks from Linkin Park, Muse and Paramore. It's based on the popular vampire-themed book series from author Stephenie Meyer.

OMFG!! Comic Con NYC News!

OK Guys trying to breath here LMAO. I contacted comic con with a few questions and zomg... They are trying to get some of the cast there. I also asked about volunteering as well:

From my email:

Thank you for your email.  As I said before, we know there are a lot of Twilight fans, and there are a lot on our staff, too.

We're actively working with the company behind the Twilight movie, and the company will play a role in NYCC.  Ultimately, whether they bring cast from Twilight is their decision.  We're aiming for it, but they need to make the call

Looking to volunteering, we will have volunteers in our main theater where casts and crews from films appear, but these casts and crews typically come in to do their panel and out right after, so there is no time to hang out.  They're very busy people, and we're very happy to have them, but they're typically at the show for only a few hours

We'll be starting to announce our schedule online on december 15

Twilight/New Moon Discussion

I keep hearing how people are worried whether the rest of the books in the Twilight saga will be developed into films. This is what I have to say to that: "WHAT?" and "SERIOUSLY?" No, really, there's more.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not worried about New Moon (or the other books) not being made into a film after Twilight. Millions of people have read the books and millions more, whether they've read the book or not, are anxiously waiting to see the film (I'll bet a good majority, more than once). I am so cocky about Twilight doing well that it's almost unbelievable. Critics out there who think Twilight is going to bomb... they probably failed third grade math. TWILIGHT IS FREAKING HUGE and it's only going to explode once the film comes to theaters. I'll bet my left leg it's bigger than Harry Potter and that it banks more than Order of Phoenix did in the weekend box office ($77 million). In fact, I bet it will surpass that in an EPIC landslide.

There's been loads of promotion, merchandise, the Hot Topic Tour, Comic Con, the Film Festival, websites, there are the fans themselves, and not to mention the hype that surrounds Bella and Edward. Even if someone has only seen the trailer, people are curious. They're going to go see this film.

I get that Catherine Hardwicke doesn't want to get everyone's hopes up - if by some horrible chance that the earth experiences apocalypse and every theater on the planet is destroyed - by not saying, oh yeah, definitely. I know Twilight's huge. There will definitely be more films. Her modesty is honorable, but I mean... she has to know how... (is there a better word besides "EPICLY FUGKING HUGE") her world is about to turn on it's axis with the PHENOMENON that is TWILIGHT.

An after thought: Honestly, if I had to bet, I say Twilight makes 100 million weekend box office, easily.

Ages and rating

I have some general questions about how old many fans are and what your opinion is of the different movie ratings.

First off all, a general poll to gain a perspective. Please be kind and fill this out, if you happen to read this and be a Twilight fan! :)

Poll #1295994 Ages of Twilight fans

What sex are?

How old are you, as of November 21st 2008?

Below 11
above 35

ETA: Um, there is accidently two options for age 25 so if you're 25, just pick one :)

Now I know the movie isn't out yet and we haven't seen it so we cannot make a valid judgement about it yet (except from the few lucky ones that have seen it) but I was wondering: what do you think would be an appropriate movie rating for the movie Twilight, based on the novel and of the clips and interviews you have seen so far?

The reason I'm bringing this is up is because here in Sweden, the movie distribution just gave out the movie rating and it is to become 'from 15 years old'. This has caused a lot of complains and grievance from tons of fans who happen to be below age of 15.

In the US, it is rated PG-13 which for me seem to be an appropriate rating. Here, '15 years' is the higest rating a movie can get and can be compared to the US rating 'R'. Yes, what movies get that rating? Movies that contain lots of violence, horror and actual porn. Now the rating system is a bit different here in Sweden. The more violent a movie is, the higher rating while when it comes sex it's not that big (comparison: Sex and The City had a US rating of R, whilst here in Sweden it was pretty much G-rated.)

I think you can see why this has made several Swedish fans distressed and angry. Especially considering the fact that all the other famous fantasy/sci-fic/action movies (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Bond series, Star Wars) were given in the US, I think PG-13 and in Sweden, are from 11 years old (i.e below 15).

What do you all think? Do you think Twilight the movie, would be so scary and well...violent in a gruesome way that it would not be suitable for children below 15? Or is the movie company being really stupid?

ETA: I just wanted to say that it is really interesting to read all your comments and perspectives so thank you :)

Posters back signed from RPattz.

I sent him a fan letter  to him through postage in July, in hopes I'd get something back. I included a sincere letter and told him at the end it would mean the world to me if he signed these two posters I made. I didn't really think that would happen, but here we are. It seems as if everyone who sent him a letter in the summer got something back. I sent it at the UK address, It has uk postage and everything.
It reads, To Karen, Best Wishes, Rpattz, XX

Kidd Kraddick In the Morning pranks Galleria fans

Alright so kccafan4ever  posted a little on this earlier today but I feel ellaboration is needed because of the HILARITY of my favorite morning show here in Dallas.

So Kidd & J-si thought it'd be funny if they took Sexy Jack to the Galleria about 3 hours early [before Rob showed up for the meet & greet] and try to pass him off as Rob...basically because he's British and apparently kinda looks like Rob [pics HERE for your judgements]...from afar...or on a security camera, rather? I don't know [maybe from REALLY far away but...I'm not buying it]...BUT IT WORKED! A little too well. Needless to say the show members involved nearly got ARRESTED but they did manage to shut down several stores so that Sexy Jack..aka Rob...could peruse freely. They did all this w/o EVER saying that Sexy Jack was in fact Robert Pattinson. I was laughing for hour! Anyway...more extensive linkage for you if you'd like to listen to the hilarious scenario:

Here & here you can find J-si & Big Al's [respectively] blogs about it from today...they kinda explain what went down.

If you visit the main homepage here and click on Media and then KPOD a little box will appear and you can listen to exactly what aired this morning. I highly recommend it b/c you'll laugh so hard.

ALSO at the time that Big Al, J-si & Sexy Jack were duping fans @ the Galleria, Kidd was actually interviewing Rob [YUM]. They apparently ran out of time and didn't get a chance to play it today but they're supposed to be playing it live on the air tomorrow morning [the website says the full interview will be up next week?] so if you're in the Metroplex listen in and if you're not then you can listen live on their website : 106.1 KISS FM

In closing I'd like to just say that it's crap that they scrapped Rob's shirtless scenes!!!! And that I cannot believe more than 3,000 people camped out for the Galleria signing. OMG! I consider myself hardcore but...I have my limits! Plus I was afraid after the SanFran-a-no-no event so I opted out. LOL! I heard a girl talking about standing in the thunderstorms early, early Monday morning for 4 hours today @ class and she didn't get to see Rob at all...I was like, "you poor girl!" But then I thought..."well, why weren't you there SUNDAY night?" LOL! Kidding, kidding. But for real...the fandom has kinda gone nutzo w/ these events. I'm interested to see how the rest of them unfold.

Enjoy this prank b/c IT WAS GENIUS. But I still feel sorry for all those fangirls who were fooled =(

'Twilight' Insider's Guide

This is on Yahoo! Movies front page. It's a gallery of a photos that we've already seen, but with captions of character's info and some things from Catherine Hardwicke on the characters.

Catherine Hardwicke on "Edward" --
Casting and creating this role on film was the supreme challenge of the film. We had to find the "most handsome man in the world" -- the object of every female reader's affection -- and he had to be a nuanced, soulful actor with pale skin AND able to pass for a high school student. Even with all these requirements, after an extensive search, we found four candidates. Then came the real test: chemistry with
Kristen Stewart. Robert flew over from London for the "chemistry test," and when he and Kristen did a series of scenes together you could really feel their connection It was electric.

Kristen's next movie written & directed by her mom

This was a very interesting interview! She discusses "Welcome To The Rileys", her new movie "K 11" that was written and will be directed by her mom, and her love for reading/poetry/photography.

: Next?

Stewart: Hopefully a movie called "K11". Not hopefully, actually. We’re supposed to go in January. My mom’s directing this movie that she wrote.

FYI: This is the movie her, Nikki Reed, and Jason Mewes are gonna be in

The Vampire That Rocked the Chart.

Nothing like signing in to your e-mail and having Kristen and Rob staring back at you.

The soundtrack to the upcoming teen vampire romance Twilight debuts at #1 on The Billboard 200. Twilight is the first soundtrack to hit #1 in advance of the movie's release since 8 Mile six years ago. That album topped the Nielsen/SoundScan chart for the week ending Nov. 3, 2002. The Eminem movie was released on Nov. 8.

And the article had some pretty interesting facts... Full article is here.

LA Times Countdown: Nov. 12

In this article we meet the Twilight Girls!

Plenty of bands and artists count the "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" books among sources of inspiration, but there may be only one that can credit "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke for its very existence.
The Los Angeles-based Twilight Music Girls stress they're not so much a band as a collective of individual singer-songwriters, but there they are, lining up gigs at the 2009 edition of Twi-Con and performing Sunday (Nov. 16) at Borders in Westwood as part of an afternoon of "Twilight" music and discussion.

It's a really long article with lots of YouTube links so go to the LA Times' website to view.

Canadian Fans & Much Music

So there has been a lot of news coverage about the big Live@Much in Toronto this weekend with the Twilight cast. I saw crowds on the local news clips lined up just to get wristbands. Does anyone know if you need a wristband to stand outside? I heard you did, and judging by the crowds, I don't they'd all be getting a wristband for the inside show. Much has a page for Twilight but it doesn't say a lot about the wristband rules.  :S

Loved this MyFox Chicago Interview with Rob

You learn that his reps are pressurising him to sign a record deal. He's resisting. That his parents will be over for the premiere and as a result he will probably have to see the film. Something he'd love to get out of but he doesnt want to leave then alone in the cinema. God I love this guy.

Can someone please upload it to You tube. Its too lovely not to keep for ever.

The interviewer had just the right technique to get more out of Rob.
