"On Saturday morning, after celebration news that the film had already taken in more than $35 million, Summit e-mailed a letter to Twilight fans, signed by stars Pattinson and Stewart, expressing their gratitude and delight at moving forward with a sequel. But the studio still hasn't confirmed whether the rest of the cast will be brought aboard for New Moon. Fans are particularly interested in whether Taylor Lautner, who is markedly shorter and more boyish-looking than Meyer's description of his character, Jacob, will return to vie for Bella's heart."
I really wish for Taylor to come back. He's really grown on to me, while watching the movie. And what with his height....LotR did it with false perspective.
They already are doing it with Ashley. (The height thing) I think they just need to work out the height issue. Taylor is fit, he can easily put on a few muscles and step on a box if he needs to be taller than anyone he is shooting with at that moment.
LotR also did with loads of special effects but you are right, most of the times, the non-hobbits just stood atop of a box.
The thing I hate about Summit right now is that they really didn't listen. Everyone and their brother asked "And what about Jacob and Taylor in New Moon?" and they didn't listen, so now, they are facing a real dilemma.
I think at this point they need to make the original cast work by whatever methods necessarily. Essentially, the only thing to be concerned about is whether or not Taylor can pull of New Moon Jacob because everyone else was fantastic (not to say that he wasn't, because I actually liked him, but there are physiological concerns there). It would be strange, even though it was only one film, to start changing actors. Frankly, I can't imagine another Carlisle...or another anyone else, for that matter.
By 'cut off his hair' they meant that trim he had, right? If he cut it off it's news to me, although we know it's coming because he said on Seacrest he needs to for a role (Parts Per Billion?). If I were him, I think I'd say it was for a role even if it wasn't just to get rid of it for awhile and have a break from the "but how does it get that way?" questions.
"This adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel (for girls!) is actually the lamest episode of 90210 ever made combining forces with the second-lamest episode of 90210 ever made."
I feel bad for Taylor, he sounds like such a nice guy. It's just that I hadn't pictured Jacob looking so childish. I suppose Catherine already looked into Steven Strait, she did say that she had considered all the fans' choices for Bella before ending up casting Kristen. So I can't see how she could possibly have failed to see the blatant Steven Strait lobbying. Either he didn't want to do it or when she auditioned him he wasn't good enough.
They will and I LOVE your Icon... JASPER ! /Jackson! hhaha
I didn't hear that line that Jackson said (Bad Bella-my name is Bella BTW) until the 3rd time! haha I've seen it 4 times because I love Jackson Ashley Jasper and Alice SOO much (and the baseball scene, but mostly Jasper and Alice and Ashley and Jackson ^^)
They should re-cast, who in their right minds would doubt for a second if they had to choose between Edward and Failcob if Failcob is played by sharkboy?
They have to get someone that could really get a girl's heart to beat a bit faster, Taylor is just, well, lulzy.
I wouldn't worry about Taylor; he's 16, and I have no doubt he's going to grow like crazy and probably work his butt off to buff up! That'll also cause him to lose a little roundness in the face, i.e. become quite a bit more manly!
I hope New Moon does as well as Twilight. That is, they won't be able to trick as many people into thinking it's a horror movie, and hopefully the fans will show up in equally large numbers despite so many seeming to dislike Twilight.
I said this before and I want to say it again: they should work on a bigger budget, on better script, directing, editing, cinematography and better special effects before they even work the cast. The Twilight cast, in general, did fairly well; the rest of the movie just barely made it, if at all.
